AP U.S. History

Ah History, seems like a boring class, and it is (sometimes anyway.) But yesterday wow was it interesting. We took notes on abolitionists and new types of religions that existed then and don't now. But the one that made me laugh the most was probably the Shakers as they are called and the believed in Jesus Christ and their creator who believed that by practicing celibacy they would be more pure. WOW, i know that's OK for some time in your life like you know until marriage but for LIFE!?!? That's ludicrous, its madness!!! No wonder they died out! I wonder if you could have left for say 12months and come back and re-join? You know after you have given birth and lost the extra baby weight!? Well all I know is that thanks heavens for them dieing out or where would I be (not here Duh!!!) But another religion was the Onida Community who were pretty much perfect and get this they SHARED (crazy I know) oh and probably the most not disturbing but kind of gross was the fact that they practiced polygamy! Yes that's the thing where you have multiple wives for ONE husband! WOW, dude thats like crazy and something that i would not do, i mean i bearly like to share food what makes people think i would share my man!!!! But anywho i think that maybe its a good thing that the shakers died out and that the Onida Community is far from where I live!!! LOL, but I know that you know that your greatfull too!!!
